Route 5/15 NB Exit 89 Traffic Shift Milestones Continue

Route 5/15 NB and Exit 89 traffic was successfully shifted to the right to allow for next phase of construction. This will allow for a new work zone to be established on the left side of Route 15 NB, where the remaining elements of the new I-91 NB Exit 29 bridge to Route 15 NB will be constructed. This new traffic pattern is expected to be in effect for the next eight months. Click for a full-screen view of photo below.

In Comparison,Route 15 NB Exit 89 Traffic Shift - Phase 1 Completed - 8/23/2019 The Route 15 NB Exit 89 merge with I-91 NB was shifted on Friday, August 23 to allow for the continued construction on the I-91 Charter Oak Bridge Project. This is a new traffic pattern (see photos below) which will be in effect for the next two months while the permanent Exit 89 travel lanes are constructed behind barrier to the right.
